We offer a wide range of standard oak buildings, all of which have a generously sized cross-section. Since we cut all of our oak frames ourselves, we are also able to offer a flexible and bespoke oak framing service, from small garden structures, to family-sized houses.
When comparing our ‘standard’ frame construction against that of many other oak framing companies, it can be seen that our frames use a higher percentage of oak than is generally offered. Other than the rafters, which are 125mm x 47mm pressure treated softwood, every component is of English ‘green’ Oak.
All frames are manufactured using traditional hand crafted joints of mortice and tennon, half lap and scarf. In fact our standard two bay frame utilises 55 individual joints.
The standard main frame supporting posts are 225mm x 125mm in section, with front knee bracing that is scalloped in two planes. By doing this as standard, side hung doors can be fitted, without the need for frame alteration.
As standard, all rafters are ended in a vertical plane, so allowing the fitment of guttering without the need of additional brackets.
The roof bracing is also designed so as to leave a clear void. This is particularly useful if storage space is of a premium.
Our beautiful oak framed buildings lend themselves to many uses such as, garages and workshops, home office, studio, stables, pool house, games room and garden room. In fact, whatever building you require Jefferies Oak Construction are confident they can help and all of our frames are constructed to building regulation standard.
